    Mr. Patterson has been involved with horses for over fifty years having shown and fox hunted as a child.  He rode as an Amateur Steeplechase Jockey for twenty years and was a licenses trainer of both Flat and Steeplechase horses for thirty years.  He served three terms on the Board of the National Steeplechase Association and was the Vice-President of that organization for two terms.  Currently he is a Member of the Stewards Advisory Committee for the National Steeplechase Association.  He is the Secretary/Commissioner for the Thoroughbred Racing Commission, a position he has held since 1988.  He currently serves on the Board of the Racing Commissioners International and is the Chairman of that organization’s Drug Testing Standards and Procedures Committee.  He has served as President of the Amateur Riders Club of America for five years having two daughters who have successfully competed as members for several years.

 

Regarding his professional life he has been involved in the Real Estate business since 1973 including residential sales, commercial sales, syndication, residential development, commercial development, and real estate brokerage management.
